A.R. Rahman offers scholarships

Oscar winning music maestro A.R. Rahman’s Chennai-based KM Music Conservatory, which trains students to become highly proficient musicians in both Indian, Western music and music technology under affiliation with Middlesex University, United Kingdom (UK), is offering scholarships to deserving students from the A.R. Rahman Foundation.

Scholarships are based on financial need and will be available to students with outstanding auditions. Besides supporting the students, Rahman would also be helping the students' families and contributing to the entire nation, acclaimed Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed said in a statement urging Rahman not to refuse admission to any talented aspirant who otherwise fulfils all the admission requirements but is financially unable to bear the cost.

The first of its kind in India, KM Music Conservatory offers Preparatory Programme (2-5 years), Foundation Programme (1-2 years), and Degree Programme (3 years) and is planning Masters Programme and a Diploma in Indian Music and Music Technology. Many faculty members have degrees from USA and UK and A.R. Rahman is the principal.
