Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman's 'Marakkuma Nenjam' concert, which was initially scheduled to take place at the Adityaram Palace City, East Coast Road (ECR), in Chennai, on August 12, had been canceled by the organizers due to heavy rains and bad weather. In that light, the hit Tamil music director has now announced that the live concert has been rescheduled and will be taking place at the same venue on September 10, while informing that the people who had already purchased tickets for the previous date can use the same for the upcoming event. Sharing the big news on X, A. R. Rahman posted, "Chennai! Thank you for being so kind and patient with us! The new date for our show is the 10th of September! Use the same tickets and join us for this very special evening! (sic)"

This latest announcement from A. R. Rahman about his 'Marakkuma Nenjam' concert has come as a big relief for the hit composer's fans considering many had to go back home disappointed after the event was called off at the last moment a few days back. He wrote on X at the time, "My Dearest Friends …Owing to adverse weather conditions and persistent rains, it is only made advisable for the health and safety of my beloved fans and friends to reschedule the concert to the nearest best date, with the guidance of the statutory authorities. More details on the new date will follow soon!EPI (sic)". 'Marakkuma Nenjam' is set to be a grand event celebrating A. R. Rahman's three-decade-long journey in the entertainment industry, which has seen him redefine the face of music in Tamil and Indian cinema, including garnering fame on a global level. 

On the film front, A. R. Rahman is currently attached to several big upcoming Tamil projects starting with Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan, which is scheduled to open in theatres worldwide as a Diwali release this November. He is also composing the songs in the Aishwarya Rajinikanth directorial Lal Salaam, followed by Kamal Haasan's KH 234 under Mani Ratnam's direction and Jayam Ravi's Genie, which were announced sometime back.
