Silambarasan TR is easily one of the most celebrated and biggest stars in the Tamil film industry. His films resonate with the masses which leads to big blockbuster numbers. He has also got a massive fan base who are true devotees of the actor who would stand by him no matter what. Simbu is currently gearing up for the release of Maha with Hansika Motwani and as a result, his fans in Madurai decided to show their love for the actor by erecting an enormous 1000 feet banner to celebrate his role in the film. However, this act of 'compassion' did not stand well with the police who went ahead and removed the entire banner.

Fans erected a 1000 feet long banner for the actor ahead of the release of Maha, in which he plays an extended cameo role. Fans had claimed it to be the longest banner for a Tamil actor ever. Police officials removed the entire banner as it was put together without the permission of the respective authorities. STR fans claim it to be the longest banner in history that was ever put together for a Tamil actor. This goes on to show the massive fan following that STR has got. 

Directed by UR Jameel, Maha marks Hansika Motwani's 50th film. Simbu will be playing an extended cameo role of that as Hansika's boyfriend in the upcoming crime thriller and is said to have a screen time of about 40 minutes. Simbu and Hansika have reunited for Maha after their 2015 film Vaalu. The film also stars  Srikanth, Karunakaran, Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Baby Manasvi and popular model turned actress Sanam Shetty in major supporting roles. The film is reportedly centered on child abuse, and Hansika Motwani will be seen as a strong character, who fights against child abuse.

Other than this, STR will next grace the silver screens with the hard-hitting action drama Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu. The movie marks the third collaboration of the star with director Gautham Vasudev Menon, and also the Oscar-winner musician A. R. Rahman. The film is expected to hit the silver screens on 15 September 2022.
