2020 has predominantly been a grief-stricken year for people world over as a result of the coronavirus pandemic crisis. Apart from the COVID-19 outbreak, natural disasters and man-made calamities across the globe, there have also been several personalities who have succumbed to their deaths this year, with the latest being popular comedian Vadivelu Balaji, whose demise has left the entire Tamil film fraternity in deep shock and sadness. Condolences are still continuing to pour in for Vadivel Balaji, who is survived by his wife and two children. 

As many fans and those in the Tamil film industry still yet to come to terms with the death of Vadivel Balaji, another shocking development has come now as well-known visual effects (VFX) artist Balamurugan has also been revealed to have passed away on Friday. No reason has been provided yet behind his death, but condolences have begun pouring in for the technician. The news of this latest death in Tamil cinema has further left many in the industry shattered, with heartfelt tributes being conveyed. 

The news was confirmed by Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal director Desingh Periyasamy on his Twitter page. The hit director was the first to break the news about Balamurugan’s passing away in a tweet which read as follows: "RIP Balamurugan Sir.A well known VFX artist in Film Industry.Condolences and Strength the Family."
