India is facing testing times not just with the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic but also from our neighbours China, Pakistan and Nepal, on border issues! However, the morale of all Indian troops and all our citizens has been boosted with the induction of the first batch of the "game changing" Rafale Jets, into the Indian Air Force! These top-notch fighter jets manufactured by the French company Dassault, arrived in India earlier but were formally inducted into the IAF at a glittering ceremony, which happened earlier today at the Ambala Airbase! The induction ceremony was attended by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, French Defence Minister Florence Parly, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Bipin Rawat and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.
The induction of the Rafale jets into the 17th Squadron of the IAF happened with a 'sarva dharma puja', a ceremonial 'water cannon salute' and some dazzling aerial manouevres displayed by the Rafale jets themselves. These fighter jets, which also go by the name 'Golden Arrows' will definitely bolster the strength of our IAF and make our enemies think twice before trying anything against us. These 5 Rafale Jets are part of the 36-Jet deal signed between India & France, in September 2016. This deal, at Rs. 60,000 Crores, is the largest ever defence deal signed by India, so far. While talking at this induction ceremony, French Minister Florence Parly also mentioned that France backs India's candidacy for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council!
Former World Cup winning Indian captain MS Dhoni, who is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, hailed the induction of the Rafale Jets into the IAF. MS Dhoni, who shockingly announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket on August 15th, is currently in the UAE preparing for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League. MSD's fondness for the military is common knowledge and it showed as he excitedly expressed his delight at the Rafale Jets being a part of the IAF. Reports state Dhoni as stating, "With the Final Induction Ceremony the world's best combat proven 4.5Gen fighter plane gets the world's best fighter pilots. In the hands of our pilots and the mix of different aircrafts with the IAF the potent bird's lethality will only increase!"
