Vetri Maaran recently released the Tamil film, Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban under his banner of Grass Root Films and the film earned critical acclaim. On the directorial front, Vetri Maaran is currently busy with the pre-production works of his next film which will have Soori in the lead role. The shooting of this film should have been completed by now if the Covid scene had not occurred. According to the latest reports in K-town, it is said that this movie will most likely have music scored by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja. Exciting, right?

When an acclaimed filmmaker like Vetri Maaran collaborates with a legendary composer like Ilaiyaraaja, you can definitely imagine the quality of the final product. Vetri Maaran has earlier worked with GV Prakash Kumar and Santhosh Narayanan in his movies and this film will mark his first collaboration with Ilaiyaraaja. However, an official confirmation is yet to be made, in this regard.

Additionally, it has been revealed that veteran director Bharathiraja will be seen in a pivotal character in the film. Bharathiraja, has of late, been acting in several Tamil movies and it looks like his next will be under Vetri Maaran's direction. Details regarding the rest of the cast and shooting plans are awaited.

After completing his film with Soori, Vetri Maaran will be moving to Vaadivaasal that stars Suriya in the lead role. Suriya, who is currently riding high on the success of Soorarai Pottru, will be looking forward to continuing the streak with Vaadivaasal, as well. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations, this rural action entertainer will revolve around Jallikattu and its traditions. The film is based on the novel of the same name penned by acclaimed writer, CS Chellappa. The film is being planned to be shot on a grand scale and the fans have got huge expectations.

Considering the fact that the film brings together - two strong talents (Vetri Maaran and Suriya), the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing the final product. Vaadivaasal will have music scored by GV Prakash Kumar. Vetri Maaran is also committed to doing a film once again with his favourite hero, Dhanush after Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran. Vetri Maaran's film with Dhanush will be bankrolled by Elred Kumar under his banner of RS Infotainment. Vetri is also expected to join hands with Thalapathy Vijay in the near future.
