Vadivelu officially announces he will not act as a hero ever again

One of the most beloved stars in Tamil cinema, actor Vadivelu has carved a niche for himself as a talent powerhouse in comedy for nearly three decades. Apart from being a champion in comedy, the veteran superstar actor has also garnered a name for being a versatile performer and has on several occasions in numerous films expressed and emoted appropriately in accordance to the nature and requirement of a scene and his role.

Known among the masses and the classes for his classic dialogues, Vadivelu has been hailed by youngsters across Tamil Nadu as the content king for meme creators who use scenes from his films to convey their opinions in a humorous manner. Vadivelu, who was last seen in a major supporting role in ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s 2017 blockbuster, Mersal, was also announced to be a part of Imsai Arasan 24th Pulikecei; the sequel to his 2006 cult historical comedy hit film, Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikecei. However, production on IAMK24 had since run into trouble and entered a state of limbo after conflicts reportedly arose between Vadivelu, director Chimbudeven and producer Shankar. Since then, it has been stated that talks had been initiated with Yogi Babu to take over the role in the sequel with an official word on it still awaited.

Meanwhile, Vadivelu had met the press yesterday (March 13) and revealed his plans for his upcoming projects saying he has no idea hereafter to take up hero roles ever again. He added saying he will be acting alongside others heroes and will be a return to the good old days when he used to give company to his co-stars while performing his own comedy tracks in films. This latest statement sets the record straight on Vadivelu's future in Tamil cinema and his roles hereafter considering he had been confirmed not long back to star in Kamal Haasan's upcoming biggie, Thalaivan Irukkindran, which has Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman scoring the music.
