She requested the people who were in close contact with her in the last few days to get themselves tested and also assured that she is doing fine.

Pooja Hegde's official statement read, "Hello everyone. This is to inform you all that I have tested positive for Covid - 19. Following all the protocols, I have isolated and home quarantined myself. I request all those who've come in contact with me recently to get tested too. Thank you for your love & support. I am currently recuperating well. Please stay home, stay safe, & take care". This news has created a huge buzz on social media and the fans are praying for the speedy recovery of the talented actress. Let us hope that Pooja recovers from the infection and returns to normalcy, very soon.

On the acting front, Pooja Hegde is currently a part of several exciting projects and the highlight one happens to be Thalapathy 65. Pooja plays the female lead in this Vijay starrer, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar of Kolamaavu Kokila fame. Pooja will be seen as Vijay's love interest. Ever since the news about Pooja testing positive for Covid 19, the fans were worried about Vijay's health, but it has been clarified that Pooja did not take part in the first schedule of Thalapathy 65 which happened in Georgia. Produced by Sun Pictures, Thalapathy 65 will have music scored by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography handled by Manoj Paramahamsa.

Pooja will be seen romancing Baahubali star Prabhas in his next film, Radhe Shyam which is scheduled to release in theatres on July 30. Radhe Shyam is a period drama set in Rome and it is directed by S Radha Krishna Kumar. Pooja will also be seen playing the female lead in Akhil Akkineni's Most Eligible Bachelor, directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Pooja will also be seen in an extended cameo in Chiranjeevi's Acharya, helmed by Koratala Siva.
