Karthi's next film has been titled Sardar and the first look poster of the film was unveiled yesterday (April 25) by the makers. Sardar will be directed by PS Mithran who is known for making movies like Irumbu Thirai (Vishal) and Hero (Sivakarthikeyan). Both the movies were strong content driven action entertainers and we can expect the same magic to be repeated in Sardar, as well. Along with the first look, the motion poster of the film was also released by the makers. Karthi's makeover is one of the highlight aspects of the first look and we get to see him in an aged look. He appears in a rough and rugged look and it looks like he has got a very interesting character to play.

Karthi's choice of scripts have always been fascinating and let us hope that Sardar also yields good results for him. Interestingly, Karthi will be playing dual roles in Sardar. We have gotten to see only one look through the first look and we will have to wait for a few more weeks to get a glimpse of the other character. Sardar will have music scored by GV Prakash Kumar who is in great form as a composer. His score in the motion poster has already earned highly positive reviews from the fans. PS Mithran's regular collaborators, George C Williams and Ruben will handle the cinematography and editing respectively.

Along with the first look release, the team has officially announced the list of the actors who will be a part of the film. The casting is definitely exciting and fresh. Rajisha Vijayan who recently garnered the attention with her impressive performance in the recently released Dhanush starrer Karnan, will be playing one of the female leads in the film. Raashi Khanna plays the other female lead. Simran, Munishkanth Ramadoss, Murali Sharma, Ilavarasu, will be seen in supporting roles. Chunky Panday will be seen as the key antagonist in the film.

It is going to be refreshing to see all these talented actors share screen space with Karthi. The film's shooting has begun today (April 26) and the schedules have been planned in Chennai, Tenkasi, and a few parts of North India. Sardar is planned to be shot on a grand scale. Karthi was last seen in Sulthan which turned out to be a success at the box office. For now, check out the newly released motion poster of Karthi's Sardar, directed by PS Mithran here:
