Director Atlee has lost his dear uncle (Periappa) recently and he took to his official social media page to share the news with his fans and followers. Atlee penned a heartfelt note, expressing his love for his uncle and the post has gone viral. Atlee's fans and well wishers are sending their positive words and support during these tough times. Atlee, in his post, mentioned that he is short of words to explain this feeling and was highly devastated with the loss. Atlee's official social media post read, "My periyappa late justice M.Sowndra Pandian has passed away , Banyan of our whole family , Completely Devastated painful can’t take it and don’t know how to com over it ... Love him the most no words to explain Periyappa ur always our king and role model Love you forever n ever Will miss u ... Rest In Peace ...".

At this juncture, Galatta Media expresses its heartfelt condolences to director Atlee and his family and prays for the departed soul to rest in peace. On the directorial front, Atlee's next film will be with Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the film is expected to go on floors in the second half of this year. The pre production works have been happening in full swing and Atlee is said to have got a very interesting script in hand. Atlee's growth has been phenomenal in the recent years and it is good that a Tamil filmmaker is venturing into Bollywood with his talent.

There are also speculations that Atlee will be working with Vijay after completing his film with Shah Rukh Khan, but we will have to wait for some more time to get a clarity on that. After making a highly impressive debut in Tamil cinema with the romantic drama, Raja Rani, Atlee teamed up with Thalapathy Vijay for Theri and there has been no lookback since then. Atlee worked with Vijay for three films - Theri, Mersal, and Bigil, and all the three films became sensational hits at the box office.

Atlee is one of the fewer directors in Tamil cinema right now, who has a 100% success record and let us hope that the streak continues with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, as well.
