Superstar Rajinikanth turns 60!
Superstar Rajinikanth, king of Kollywood, celebrates his 60th birthday today. The actor sure has come a long way since his Sivaji Rao Gaekwad days in his filmi career spanning over 35 years.
Discovered by the legendary K. Balachander and renamed Rajinikanth, Moonru Mugam marked Rajni’s debut. This action-entertainer took Rajni to great heights. Most of Rajni’s initial films were as villain or double-hero starrers. He paired up with Kamal Haasan in Aval Oru Thodargadhai, Moonru Mudichu, Apoorva Raagangal.
Since the actor played his parts to perfection, his remarkable style and heroism began to attract the masses. His stunts, body language, dialogue delivery, his trademark tossing a cigarette into his mouth, even his romantic scenes captivated viewers from all strata. Audiences cheered and screamed in delight whenever their favourite Rajni appeared on screen. All the appreciation raised his star-status; from ‘Style Mannan’ he became the invincible Superstar.
After the magnum opus Sivaji directed by Shankar, Kuselan, Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Katha Parayumbol was Rajni’s last release. His daughter Soundarya is all set to immortalize her dad as an animation action icon with Sultan the Warrior.
Endhiran with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is another much-awaited film of the Superstar, is directed by Shankar. It feels great just to know that Superstar's next movie is coming next year to entertain and fascinate his innumerable audiences and fans, as usual.
On his 60th birthday, the actor will perform a grand pooja (Yagna) at the Kamakshi Amman temple in Kancheepuram. Since the yagna is being performed by Superstar himself, speculations have already begun about his political aspirations.
