'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo is the talk of the town and the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is gearing up for a huge worldwide release on October 19. There has been tremendous buzz surrounding the upcoming mass action drama ever since it went on floors earlier this year and expectations are high for the film to take a massive start at the box office. Considering Leo is also the second time Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay have teamed up after their blockbuster, Master (2021), the expectation levels are off the charts.
With Leo's release around the corner, lyricist Vishnu Edavan who penned the lyrics for the songs in the Vijay-starrer, recently sat down for an exclusive interview to talk about the phenomenal expectations among fans for the film to be included in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), while also sharing his views on the pressure Lokesh Kanagaraj must be facing to deliver a knockout entertainer. Vishnu said, "There is pressure in everything and how one handles it positively or negatively. He (Lokesh Kanagaraj) definitely has the pressure. As you stated about the MCU and the LCU, which of the two is bigger here, is secondary. Since we're creating something, how we save it and go forward is the big question. There is pressure in the arena that he's playing in, but the manner in which he (Lokesh Kanagaraj) is handling it is superb."
Vishnu Edavan further stated, "He (Lokesh Kanagaraj) has done films with Vijay sir, Kamal Haasan sir, Suriya sir, Karthi sir, and it's going to be Rajinikanth sir next. He's working with all these people. This is indeed a big pressure, but we've never seen it on his face. The shooting is not a pressure. The writing also does not give him any pressure. If he has to go somewhere for any other work, that might be a pressure for him, but doing films hasn't been a pressure. All that just goes away. After all, this is what we all have aspired for and dreamed about, and why will there be any difficulty when that dream comes true."
