After completing a month-long schedule of Annaatthe in Hyderabad, Superstar Rajinikanth returned to Chennai, this morning (May 12) through a private jet. Last month, Rajinikanth left for Hyderabad for taking part in the shoot of his next film, Annaatthe, directed by Siva. The shooting happened at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad and the makers shot some of the important sequences featuring Rajinikanth and Nayanthara in the schedule. A picture of Rajinikanth and director Siva from the shoot of Annaatthe was released a few weeks before and it went viral among the fans. The Hyderabad schedule has now been completed and Rajinikanth is back in Chennai.

The fans and members of Rajini Makkal Mandram gathered outside his house in Poes Garden, Chennai and after getting down from the car, Rajinikanth greeted them with his trademark style. The visuals of Rajinikanth entering his house and greeting his fans are doing rounds on social media. The next schedule of Annaatthe is expected to take place in Kolkata, but a final call will be taken only after getting a clarity on the Covid-19 situation. Annaatthe is directed by Siva and has music scored by D Imman. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film features not one, not two, but four female leads - Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Nayanthara, and Keerthy Suresh.

Among the four, Keerthy Suresh will be seen playing the role of Rajinikanth's younger sister and the film's main plot revolves around the relationship between Rajinikanth and Keerthy Suresh. Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, Arjai, and others will be seen in supporting roles. The film's cinematography and editing departments are headed by Vetri and Ruben respectively. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 4 for the festive occasion of Diwali, but the plan is subject to change, depending on the Covid 19 situation.
