A film that set the entire nation talking right from the moment of its announcement, Prabhas' Salaar under the direction of KGF films fame Prashanth Neel is touted to be one of the biggest ventures in the making and is expected to begin rolling soon. Being produced under the Hombale Films banner, producer Vijay Kiragandur will be looking to present Salaar on a bigger scope than his KGF films, especially after the film was launched a few days back with 'Rocking Star' Yash gracing the grand event. In that light, Hombale Films on Thursday dropped a massive Salaar update informing fans that leading Tamil heroine Shruti Haasan has joined the film's cast.

Hombale Films has made the announcement today on the occasion of Shruti Haasan's birthday and wrote on social media, "We're ecstatic to have you onboard for #Salaar. Can't wait to see you sizzle on the screen." Shruti will be joining Salaar, which is being made as a pan-Indian film and will be releasing in Telugu and Hindi, including other languages. Salaar will be a big project for Shruti, whose last big release was Ravi Teja's Krack in Telugu, which hit theatres this Sankranthi. Shruti's upcoming lineup looks promising as she will next be seen in 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab, including the Telugu version of Netflix's anthology Lust Stories titled Pitta Kathalu and Laabam in Tamil opposite 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi.

The curiosity among fans for Salaar has been high, especially after Prabhas revealed that his character in the film is "extremely violent" and was something he had not done before. Considering Prashanth Neel has become an expert in executing breathtaking action, which was at full display in K. G. F: Chapter 1 and all sights currently set on K. G. F: Chapter 2, Prabhas’ fans have been gushing as to what the blockbuster director has in store in Salaar. Although no release date has been set as yet, there are strong speculations doing the rounds on social media that Salaar could arrive in theatres in January 2022.

As for Prabhas, he will be shooting for Salaar alongside his other big projects such as the tentatively titled Prabhas 21 with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan under Mahanati director Nag Ashwin and the highly ambitious Adipurush, which will see him face off Saif Ali Khan, who has been cast as the antagonist, with Om Raut serving as the director. It is to be noted that Prabhas will soon be wrapping up filming for director Radha Krishna Kumar's Radhe Shyam opposite Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo star Pooja Hegde, which will be a step away from his action ventures and has been announced to be a period romantic film.
