Porkkalam in Pongal race
Porkkalam, directed by debutant Bandi Saroj Kumar, is the last minute surprise entrant to the Pongal race. Kishore (the villain in Polladhavan) plays the lead role for the first time. Kannada actress Smitha is the heroine.
The film deals with the trials and tribulations faced by a person. The problems push him to the extent of arriving at a crusial do-or-die decision. Hero Kishore faces seven villains in the film and Bollywood fame Tinnu Anand is one among them. After Kamal Haaasan's Naayagan, Tinnu Anand is making a comeback to Kollywood through Porkkalam.
Other star cast includes Biju Menon, Santhanabharathy,�Sampath, Ponvannan and Lal. Music is by Rohit Kulkarni.
So now Porkkalam will compete against Aayirathil Oruvan, Kutty, Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam and Naanayam. Looks like the Pongal race is getting hotter!
