Ace Tamil filmmaker Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, announced to come out in two parts, has been creating massive curiosity ever since the film was first announced in 2019. With the first installment scheduled to arrive in theatres in 2022, the excitement among fans for the upcoming epic historical action-drama film based on acclaimed Tamil author Kalki Krishnamurthy's novels of the same name has gotten bigger over the past few days as several cast members have been sharing pictures from the Ponniyin Selvan shooting spot, including actress Trisha, who posted a photo of the Orcha Temple in Madhya Pradesh where the team has been filming their ongoing schedule. In that light, actor Rahman of Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal, Billa and Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru fame took to social media to post a photo of himself with veteran Tamil actor Prabhu from the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where the two are seen at the gym, with the latter hitting it hard on the treadmill.

Sharing the photo with Tamil cinema’s 'Ilaya Thilagam' Prabhu, Rahman wrote, "Yup it’s sweat , smile and a selfie. With one of my longest friend from the industry. He doesn’t need an intro. Always a charismatic personality. On the sets of #ponninselvan at #ramojifilmcity . Sorry guys , not allowed to post any of the work pics from location. Strictly prohibited. But this project is coming up in a very bloody big way. Lots of star casts. Fun but also demanding at sets. #actor #prabhu actor #kollywood #tollywood #bollywoodactor #indianfilmindustry".
