It is a known fact that Madhavan and Shraddha Srinath have acted together in Maara, the Tamil remake of Dulquer Salmaan’s Charlie. The Tamil remake is directed by Dhilip Kumar who earlier made the critically acclaimed indie film, Kalki. Charlie was a refreshing feel good entertainer that got highly positive reviews from the critics and fans and we will have to see how the film has been fine tuned for the Tamil audience. With a smart and handsome star like Madhavan at the front, we can hope for a quality product from the team. Maara’s star cast also includes the likes of Sshivada and Mouli. Produced by Prateek Chakravorty and Shruti Nallappa under the banner of Pramod Films, Maara has music scored by Ghibran, cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan and Karthik Muthukumar and editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan.

The film's shooting was wrapped up just before the lockdown and the post production works were happening during the pandemic. Following that, it has now been officially announced that the film would have a direct OTT release, following the current trend. Yes! Madhavan - Shraddha Srinath starrer Maara will stream on Amazon Prime Video directly on December 17 and this announcement has made the fans happy. Amazon Prime Video has officially released the list of their releases from October to December and various exciting biggies have been acquired by the streaming giant.

Suriya's Soorarai Pottru will be releasing on October 30 and the fans have got huge expectations on the film. In 1.5 months after Soorarai Pottru's release, Maara will have its release and we will have to wait and see how the film is being received. Madhavan and Shraddha are coming together after the blockbuster success of Vikram Vedha and let us hope that they recreate the magic once again. Madhavan already had a direct OTT release film in the form of Nishabdham / Silence which got mixed reviews from the critics. Maara will be his second direct OTT release.
