Malayalam screenwriter and director Sachy, who was admitted to Thrissur Jubilee Mission Hospital on June 16 after having suffered a cardiac arrest, passed away yesterday night at 9.30 PM on the 18th of June. A few days back Sachy suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the Jubilee Mission Hospital, Thrissur. However, when he was admitted, his brain had suffered damage. He was admitted to the critical care unit and was on ventilator support. Sachy had recently undergone total hip replacement surgery. Reports suggest that Sachy was given medicines to maintain his blood pressure, however, he wasn't showing any signs of improvement and eventually lost the battle. 
 
Sachy, a native of Kodungalloor which belongs to Thrissur district of Kerala, practised as a lawyer in Criminal Law and Constitutional Law for eight years in the High Court of Kerala. During his time at college, Sachy was active in his college film society and theatre, directing several plays. He started of his career in Malayalam Industry by collaborating with writer Sethunath. Their debut movie Chocolate was a success which led them to pair up for several movies. He has directed two films Anarkali and the recently released Ayyappanum Koshiyum which turned out to be a blockbuster hit. Prithiviraj who played the lead shared a photos Sachy confirming his death. It’s been a tough few days for Indian film industry with some of the well-known stars passing away.
