The entire state of Tamil Nadu woke up to the news of the shocking death of director KV Anand and the people are yet to come to terms with the reality. Initially, it was said that he died due to a massive heart attack, but after a few hours, it was revealed that KV Anand had Covid-19 complications. KV Anand died following a heart attack, that was caused due to Covid-19 complications. Since he was affected by Covid-19, his mortal remains was not kept for the public and film industry members to pay their homage. KV Anand breathed his last at MIOT Hospital, in Chennai and his mortal remains was taken to his house in Adyar for the family members to see him for one last time.

Due to the Covid-19 situation, the mortal remains was kept only for a few minutes and the body was later taken to the Besant Nagar Electric Cremation Ground. The pictures of his mortal remains wrapped inside a Cover is now doing rounds on social media and it has made the fans emotional. The netizens are recalling their favourite moments from the movies directed by KV Anand. The unfortunate death of KV Anand is definitely a big loss for the Tamil film industry. KV Anand was a filmmaker who garnered attention with his highly creative ideas and finely packaged action thrillers.

He got a massive breakthrough and became a leading director after Ayan which turned out to be a mega blockbuster. Even today, Ayan stands to be one of the biggest blockbusters in Suriya's career and the film opened different avenues for him. Later, KV Anand directed movies like Ko, Anegan, Maattrraan, Kavan, and Kaappaan. He was working on the script of his next directorial venture, before breathing his last. Anand was also an acclaimed cinematographer who enhanced the quality of several notable biggies through his visuals.

As a cinematographer, KV Anand has worked in movies like Nerukku Ner, Mudhalvan, Chellame, Sivaji : The Boss, and more. He won the National Film Award for Best Cinematography through his debut film, Thenmavin Kombath (Malayalam), directed by Priyadarshan.
