A film that has Tamil cinema fans around the world excited, Dhanush's Jagame Thandhiram directed by Karthik Subbaraj is scheduled for a worldwide premiere on June 18 on Netflix. Produced by S. Sashikanth’s Y Not Studios banner and featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan, the upcoming mass gangster drama's action-packed trailer was released last week, raising the curiosity and anticipation for the film tenfold. There have also been three songs released so far - 'Rakita', 'Bujji' and 'Nethu' - to a rousing reception, with the makers on Saturday announcing that the Jagame Thandhiram album will be out on June 7. Check out the official announcement below:

Netflix and the makers of Jagame Thandhiram are leaving no stone unturned in the promotions of the film considering it has opted out of a theatrical release in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Director Karthik Subbaraj too recently in an interview to Galatta went on to inform that the 'Bujji' and 'Nethu' video songs have been removed from the final cut of the film to be released, with the makers planning to bring out additional deleted scenes after its premiere on Netflix. An international gangster film with a story set in the United Kingdom revolving around the immigrant crisis, Jagame Thandhiram has Dhanush playing the role of a small-time gangster named Suruli in Madurai, who leaves for London for an unfinished business, with all expectations now for the film to be a cracker of an entertainer.

Apart from the two-time National Award-winner Dhanush, Jagame Thandhiram has popular Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi playing the female lead, with Hollywood actor and Game of Thrones fame James Cosmo cast as the prime antagonist. The film also has a talented supporting cast featuring names like Joju George, Kalaiyarasan, Sharath Ravi, Sanchana Natarajan, Super Deluxe fame Ashwanth among others, with cinematographer Shreyaas Krishna and editor Vivek Harshan forming the core technical team.
