The Kannada-Tamil bilingual Vanayutham (Attahaasa in Kannada) which chronicles the life of the forest brigand Veerappan, has been facing quite a lot of hurdles, right from the day it was announced! The latest obstacle in the movie's path is the stay order obtained by the late Veerappan's wife Muthulakshmi, on the movie's release. The case, going on in the Chennai High Court, was to have been proceeded with, but the hearing has been delayed as Muthulakshmi absented herself, citing that she had to go to her village, to celebrate Diwali with her children. The case has been postponed for hearing on November 15, and the movie's director AMR Ramesh is frustrated with these developments. He says that Muthulakshmi is deliberately delaying the movie's release, while Muthulakshmi alleges that the movie shows her husband in bad light, while glorifying the late actor Dr. Rajkumar. This movie, starring Kishore and Arjun Sarja in lead roles, has been censored, and has obtained a U/A certificate in Kannada, and U certificate in Tamil!
