Oscar Film Festival

Malappuram-based Rasmi Film Society, one of India's leading film societies, conducted an Oscar Film Festival at Naveen Theatre, Vadakkemanna on Sunday. Four Oscar-winning films, including Slumdog Millionaire which�garnered Oscar laurels for music director A.R. Rahman and sound engineer Resul Pookutty, were screened during the festival.

It was the second screening of Slumdog Millionaire in a month in Malappuram. Gus Van Sant's Milk, decipting the story of Harvey Milk who stood up�for gay rights in the US, was the second Academy Award winner screened by the Rasmi Film Society.

Other films screened were The Reader, which won Kate Winslet of Titanic fame an Oscar for�best actress, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, directed by David Fincher.
