Vellathooval on May 1
Veteran Malayalam director I.V. Sasi's ongoing Vellathooval, which recently completed its entire shooting and was expected to hit theatres in April, has been slated for release on May 1. Post production work is currently going on at Thiruvananthapuram. The film is brought to theatres by Mulagupaadam Release.
After a long time, noted scriptwriter John Paul and I.V. Sasi are teaming up with this film, which has Rajith Menon (Goal fame) and Nithya (Akashagopuram fame) in the lead roles. Also in the cast are Lalu Alex, Jagathy, Ganeesh, Revathy, Seema and Swetha Menon.
Produced by C.M. Raju under the banner of Anugraha Films, Vellathooval is presented by V.B.K. Menon. Ananda Kuttan wields the camera. Johnson has scored music for lyrics written by Girish Puthenchery. Editing is by P.C. Mohanan.
Meanwhile, scriptwriter John Paul has recently published a book of essays "Kalathinu Munpe Nadannavar", in which he gives a vivid account of how the sweetest melodies in Malayalam cinema, including the song 'Arikil neeyundayirunnenkil' from Neeyethra Dhanya (1987), were born in a hotel room in Kochi. The book is published by Olive Publications, Kozhikode.
