Actors Sarathkumar and Amitash Pradhan have teamed up for the crime thriller drama Paramporul under debutant C Aravind Raj's direction, a former associate of acclaimed filmmaker Ram. Produced by Manoj and Girish under the Kavi Creations banner, the upcoming film revolves around idol smuggling and gives audiences a glimpse into how the networking is established, while also showing the various trials and tribulations experienced by the characters. Released on the special occasion of Sarathkumar's birthday today, the Paramporul teaser sees the actor once again donning the khakhi as a police officer after he impressed with his performance in the recently-released crime thriller Por Thozhil, which is still continuing its strong run in theatres.
The Paramporul teaser starts off introducing Sarathkumar as a cop, who gets a tip-off about an idol smuggling group and their suspected involvement in a double murder incident. Upon investigation, it is revealed that the victim was in possession of divine idols, with Velaiyilla Pattathari fame Amithash then coming into the picture and informing Sarathkumar their value priced at around Rs. 50-60 crores. The Paramporul teaser also shows us the various characters in the film among whom include Sivappu Manjal Pachai heroine Kashmira Pardeshi, and filmmaker-actor Balaji Sakthivel, whose lives are entangled in the idol smuggling world.
The world of Paramporul is indeed an intriguing one and we can expect plenty of thrills when the film comes out in theatres soon. Celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the songs and the background score in the film and delivered the hit 'Sippara Rippara' song last year. There will be quite a lot of comparisons between Sarathkumar's roles in Por Thozhil and Paramporul, with the latter showing him to be a bit more easy-going than the tough persona he had essayed in his previous film.
