No hurry to sign projects: Jyothirmayi

Jyothirmayi, the TV serial artist (Indraneelam) who entered films (Pilots and Meesa Madhavan), knows well that cinema is not like TV serials. One must take enough time to choose his/her roles with care. In this case, Jyothirmayi seems to be playing her cards right.

"I'd rather wait for good roles than rush and settle for bad ones. People keep asking me about my next project. I can understand their eagerness but then, I think I need to wait for good roles," the talented actress says.

Jyothirmayi is currently the heroine in the role of a police officer in the Tamil film Vedigundu Murugesan opposite Pasupathi in the direction of Murthy, director of Karupasamy Kuthagaitharar. Annamalai Films, which has earlier produced Bambara kannale and Koodal Nagar is producing this movie, said to be a comedy fare. Music is by Dhina.

Apart from Vedigundu Murugesan, she is working for two other movies in Malayalam and Kannada which will hit theatres soon. Jyothirmayi, who conquered Malayalam screens with her outstanding dance number 'Chinga maasam vannu chernnal', won a National Film Award (Special Jury Award) in 2003 for her powerful performance in Bhavam.
