Mohanlal with Joemon and Padmakumar

After his unimpressive Mammootty-Sreenivasan starrer Bhargavacharitham Moonam Khandam (2006), noted Malayalam director Joemon is planning his next Mollywoodfilm starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead. This is the first time that Mohanlal is doing the lead role in a Joemon film. (The actor appeared in a guest role in Joemon's Unnathangalil in 2001).

Though more details about his new untitled venture are awaited, it is learnt that Joemon is currently working on the script. The rest will be fixed once the script is completed. Joemon's earlier films are Samrajyam, Jackpot (1993), Anaswaram (1991), Yadavam (1993) and Siddharthan (1998).

Meanwhile, for the first time in his career spanningover 20 years, Mohanlal also teams up with noted director Padmakumar in Shikar - The Hunt, produced by Tetco Rajagopal and scripted by renowned writer S. Suresh Babu of Five Fingers (2005), Thandavam (2002), and Dada Sahib (2000) fame. Padmakumar's last venture was Mammootty-starrer Parunthu, an average earner. Gireesh Puthencheery and M. Jayachandran will be the music directors. More details about the cast and creware awaited.
