You might not have forgotten Vinayan's Adbhutadweep, which was heavily inspired by Gulliver's Travels. Actor Prithviraj made a strong comeback in Malayalam with this movie ousting other young heroes. Well, let’s talk about the heroine of Adbhutadweep - Mallika Kapoor.
Mallika Kapoor, the Delhi model-turned-actress, made her debut in Adbhutadweep and was very lucky in the initial stage of her career. She was well-noticed despite her role, which was limited to only a song sequence. The film was later remade into Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Obviously, it was a great opening for the actress.
She entered Tamil films and acted in Bharat’s Azagaai Irukkirai Bhayamaa Irukku and Arjun’s Vathiyar. But they hardly boosted her career. She then shifted to Telugu (Mahaa). She made her debut in Kannada with Prem's Savi Savi Nenapu. Unfortunately, they also didn't too well either.
After a long gap, Mallika Kapoor is now returning to Malayalam. She will act as second heroine of the new film starring Mohanlal in the lead. In fact, Bhama was supposed to be in the role, but she has now got a few offers in Tamil and is very busy for a while. She therefore decided to walk out of the film and the role went to Mallika. Let's hope Mallika Kapoor's career gets a boost with this film.
