Popular actress Parvathy's Uyare has received an overwhelming response at theatres. This movie which narrates a touching human strory with out any commercial ingredients has received rave reviews for its content and super acting of cast. Meanwhile, Kerala Minister KK Shailaja is the latest to heap praises on the award winning actress.

Uyare has showed how patriarchy challenges the self-respect of girls and women in society. "Parvathy has proved through this movie that she is now above the league of the so called Superstars. By showing how a acid attack victim returns to her life, this movie gives a positive message to society. Also, it challeges existing dominant patriarchal attitudes in our society. This movie shows how a medium like cinema can used effectively for social transformation," wrote the minister on her Facebook page.
