Kate dissuaded daughter from acting

Kate Beckinsale was not at all for her nine-year-old acting in her new movie Everybody's Fine, because she did not want Lily to go through the harsh audition process. It had been director Kirk’s idea to have Lily play Kate’s character as a young girl in the movie, but Kate was quite firm she did not want Lily to try out for the part. She explains, "I said, 'No, because she'll be coming with me to the set and if she doesn't get the part, she'll have to turn up on the set every day and see somebody else.' "

However, Lily was way too adamant, went right ahead, auditioned and won the part, fair and square! And now, mommy dearest is so proud of her daughter and the way she has handled herself in sequences alongside the legendary Robert De Niro. She reveals, "I would have been so intimidated, but she said, 'Well, it wasn't somebody really famous, like George Clooney.'"
