Award for K.P. Udayabhanu

Playback singer K.P. Udayabhanu, who recently won the prestigious Padma Shri award, one of the most coveted awards of India, have been selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award instituted by Thiruvananthapuram-based production house Symphony Television, TV's advisory board chairman and poet O.N.V. Kurup and V. Krishnakumar, Managing Director, told mediapersons on Thursday.

Apart from K.P. Udayabhanu, music director M.K. Arjunan and noted technocrat K.P.P. Nambiar were also selected for this award, which consists of a statuette, a citation and a purse of Rs. 25,000. The awards will be presented on February 22. The previous winner of this award is veteran poet and lyricist P. Bhaskaran, who penned about 3000 songs for more than 250 films.

Symphony Television is Kerala’s first integrated production house and content creator with inhouse creative, production and marketing setup. It was launched in 2005 by Superstar Mohanlal in Thiruvananthapuram.
