Thilakan in Therukoothu

Apart fromthe powerful superstars Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi, recent Padma Shri award winnerThilakan (one of the senior-most artistes in Malayalam), seems to be the most happening hero in the industry these days. After bagging an array of hero-oriented roles in Sohanlal's ongoing offbeat Orkkuka Vallappozhum, P. Suku Menon's Kalabha Mazha and National award winning Ekantham by Madhu Kaithapram, the actor has bagged the lead role inthe forthcoming Therukoothu.

Set in the backdrop of a circus, Therukoothu tells about the story of a group of people who earn their livelihood byperforming circus-like actsin the streets. The film is produced by Mummy Century under the banner of Century Vision. Soorya Chandran has written the dialogues.

Kaithapram Viswanathan has set music to lyrics written by Roy Puramadam. Latheef will wield the camera. Thilakan is supported by Salim Kumar, Machan Varghese, Anwar, Suji Bala, Sonia, Bindhu, Kozhikode Santha Devi, Priyanka and Master Adil. The film is expected to start rolling soon.

Meanwhile, Thilakan has also been roped in for a meaty role in the Hollywood film Dam 999, to be directed by Sohan Roy (Malayalam lyricist and CEO of Dubai Aries Group). Dam 999 will be the second international venture by Thilakan, whose first was Santhosh Sivan's much-acclaimed Before The Rains. DAM 999 is produced by Marine BizTV, the first TV channel solely dedicated to the globalmaritime industry.
