It can be recalled that Superstar Mohanlal will be playing a negative role in this movie. The actor has undergone a unique image makeover for the film.

Popular actress Ranjini who shot to fame with Chitram and Mukundetta Sumitra Villikunnu is all set to make a comeback with Koothara. The actress is going to share screen space once again with Mohanlal, in this film. Sreenath Rajendran is directing it. Shaul Hammeed Marikkar is producing the film under the Marikkar Productions banner.
