When a remake is handled from a South Indian language, the hurdles are many but director Prasanna who made his Bollywood debut with Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has come out with flying colors.

The Tamil original named Kalyana Samayal Saadham explored the incidents where an engaged couple tries to indulge in pre-marital sex but couldn’t do so because the groom isn’t ready yet. It was an unorthodox script for Tamil that has been brilliantly converted to suit the cultural changes in Bollywood. Yet, at no point Shubh Mangal Saavdhan turns gross or glamorous.

It rather works well made possible by the lead pair Ayushmann and Bhumi’s fabulous performance, screenplay and a jubilant presentation. Director Prasanna is expected to gain more films in Hindi after this success.
