A visibly agitated judges panel took to the Supreme Court today in a session during which he went through the plea to put a ban on the movie Padmavati and slammed the petitioner for demanding criminal prosecution against the director, producer of the film.
“Making such strong comments against a movie before the CBFC provides its certificate is plain atrocious. Such people who hold public office in government and politics should refrain from making comments,” the SC was quoted saying during the session.
They further added that a frivolous petition has been made by the petitioner which the court will not entertain and asked people in respectable positions to not make comments that could disrupt peace in the country.
Director Sanjay Leela Bansali confirmed that Padmavati is not releasing overseas on Dec 1 and will not release until CBFC has provided their censor certificate.
