“India Sucks!!,” tweeted Veena Malik recently.

The Pakistani actress who has done films like Zindagi 50-50 and Supermodel is back in the limelight for her anti-India tweet. This has stirred up another controversy, seeing mixed reactions from many people.

"Let me clarify this, that I have no role to play in Veena Malik's either coming to India, or finding a name in the entertainment space. If she has made a statement as shocking as this, it is indeed heart-breaking to the people (of India) who welcomed her with open arms," (sic) said film-maker Mahesh Bhatt.

Even some Pakistani artist are shocked by this. Farhan Saeed, former member of the Pakistani band Jal, says, "It's really sad if she did so, but then what else do we expect from Veena Malik? Anything that keeps her in the news. I think we artistes should be a bridge between the two countries, especially the ones who work on both sides of the border. But coming from Veena, it is surely a publicity stunt."

On the other hand even Sunny Ghanshyam, lead guitarist of Raeth, remarked, "What is she all about? No one knew who Veena Malik was before she came to India. It's only after she got a chance in Bollywood that she got her recognition here in India. She should be grateful and should owe her success to India. I'm sure she got this rishta out of what she is today or else it would have been really difficult for her to travel to the US. Sad how people change over times they need to respect the people and the place."

However, Veena Malik denies putting up this statement. Her international press manager says that her twitter account was hacked by her ex-boyfriend Prashant Singh, a former digital manager in Mumbai. “It's unbelievable that Veena can post an anti-India tweet. She is not that kind of a person at all,” he added.
