Anurag Basu's visual extravaganza Barfi!, which had Ranbir Kapoor, Ileana and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles, is all set to be remade in Tamil and other regional languages. The film, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, has also been selected as India's official entry to Oscars! Interestingly UTV's Delhi Belly is being remade in Tamil as Settai with Arya, Premgi, Santhaanam, Anjali and Hansika.
Barfi!, with Ranbir Kapoor as a mute and deaf young man, Priyanka as an autistic girl, and the debut venture of top south actress Ileana D'Cruz, has received positive reviews. The film was widely appreciated for the performance of the lead characters, especially Priyanka Chopra.
