We have reported time and again that the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus doesn't differentiate between anybody and affects all people, everywhere! Many world leaders, actors, politicians and sportspersons have been affected by the Corona Virus and now we hear that after mass testing conducted by the Cricket South Africa, 7 tests have returned positive! The South African government had recently allowed non-contact sport to resume on Level 3, despite the nation-wide lockdown! This lead Cricket South Africa to conduct mass testing and over 100 tests were conducted on its affiliate staff, contracted players and franchise teams.
Cricket South Africa's (CSA) acting CEO Jacques Faul has revealed that in the over 100 tests conducted, 7 people have tested positive for the Corona Virus. However, Faul did not reveal if any player is among the 7 people and mentioned that their medical ethical protocols did not allow them to share information about those who tested positive! Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza, swashbuckling Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi and South African first-class cricketer Solo Nqweni have all been identified as testing positive for COVID, so far. We also hear recent reports that 3 current Pakistani cricketers had also tested positive. Stay tuned for updates...
