An individual accused of murder escaped from a coronavirus treatment centre on Monday after the police shifted him upon his test results coming in positive earlier. The accused had managed to escape from the COVID care centre at around 2PM, as per police officials, despite three policemen from the Khadakpada police station guarding him. It has been revealed that he has been in custody since June 16. 

A police official in his statement revealed that the search for the accused is already on with special teams dispatched to nab him. The individual has been accused of murdering his live-in partner on May 30 in Kalyan's Mohane area in Thane. The police said, "He is accused of killing his live-in partner on May 30 in Kalyan's Mohane area. Teams have been formed to nab him,". Maharashtra has recorded over 1.32 lakh coronavirus cases and is presently the worst-affected state in the country with Mumbai city alone registering over 66,500 cases, which has begun to slow down as over 8,000 new cases have been in the last one week.
