Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has tested negative for coronavirus, Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar said on Monday during his media briefing. He added that the state government has been laying special emphasis to COVID-19 testing with the CM as well subjecting himself to get tested. He also said that the state continues to carry out the highest number of coronavirus tests in the country while praising the efforts of the frontline workers fighting the battle against the disease day and night.  

Health Minister Vijayabaskar urged that the Tamil Nadu government has been transparent regarding the information being shared by the state about the efforts to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak and that no data was being concealed from being released. He then said that health officials in the state have been carrying out nearly 30,000 coronavirus tests per day on an average basis while declaring that almost 55% of the patients since being admitted for treatment have gotten discharged.
