TSR Lalithakala Parishath award for Nagarjuna
The newly established 'T. Subbarami Reddy Lalithakala Parishath' honoured matinee idol Akkineni Nagarjuna with the title ‘Lalitha Kalaratna' at a colourful function in Fr. Devaiah Auditorium of Andhra Loyola College in Vijayawada on Saturday.
Thanking the TRS Lalithakala Parishath for the honour, Nagarjuna said, “My father and I are receiving best awards in the same year. My father received Padma Vibhushan recently and now I am receiving Lalitha Kalaratna.” He said that the award increased his responsibility and he would pick up only best of the roles in future. He and his family visit his father Nageswara Rao's native village Ramapuram near Gudivada in the district every year, the actor said.
The Parishath also felicitated film producer D. Rama Naidu, actors Amala, Brahmanandam, Ali, Charmi, Sneha, Archana, director K. Raghavendra Rao, writers Paruchuri Brothers, playback singer Mano (Nagur Babu) and others.
