Director Vasanth's Thaneer is based on Writer Ashoka Mithran's novel. The audio launch of Thaneer happened today and many celebrities were spotted at the event. Ace director Bharathiraja, writer Ashoka Mithran, Karunakaran, Pisasu cameraman Ravi Roy, Pushpa Kandaswamy, Santhana Bharathi, Gulshan Grover, Thamizhachi Thangapandian and Mohan Ram were seen along with director Vasanth.

An overwhelmed Sudha Raghunathan who is debuting as a music director in this film said that she immediately accepted the offer from director Vasanth and is confident that with her experience in music for approximately 30 years now, will succeed in the new role.
