'Thalapathy' Vijay watched Hollywood superstar Denzel Washington's The Equalizer 3 on opening day in the U.S. on Friday, September 1, along with his upcoming film Thalapathy 68's director Venkat Prabhu and creative producer Archana Kalpathi. During the screening, Venkat Prabhu clicked a picture of Vijay facing the screen and expressing his fondness for the two-time Academy Award-winning actor's performance in a scene, which was captured by the blockbuster Tamil film director, who has now posted the photo on social media. Producer Archana Kalpathi too has posted the picture on her socials, which has since gone viral. 

This is the first time a photo of Vijay showing his love for an actor on the big screen has come out and fans are no doubt expressing their own admiration for the Tamil cinema superstar, with many sharing fan moments pictures taken during the actor's previous film screenings. Vijay, Venkat Prabhu, and Archana Kalpathi are currently in Los Angeles, California, to reportedly discuss with the team at USC Institute of Creative Technologies the use of 3D VFX scan technology in Thalapathy 68, which is currently in the pre-production stages. Earlier on Thursday, Venkat Prabhu shared pictures of a technology called Light Stage being used on Vijay for Thalapathy 68, which helps capture digital images and replicate a 3D version of the subject, which can then be used in tandem with motion capture technology. 

Thalapathy 68 is the prestigious production banner AGS Entertainment's 25th venture and their second collaboration with Vijay after Bigil (2019), which turned out to be an explosive box-office hit. The film announced to come out in theatres in 2024 will also include music by celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and is the second time he has boarded a Vijay-starrer after Pudhiya Geethai (2003). Production on Thalapathy 68 is set to reportedly begin rolling after Vijay's Leo directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj opens in cinemas on October 19.
