Tri-continental Film Festival in Goa
Goa will host the tri-continental Film Festival 2008 in Panaji scheduled to be held between July 25 to July 30 at Maquinez Palace in ESG Complex and International Centre, Dona Paula. Around 21 films from Asia, Africa and America will be screened in the morning and evening at both venues at the festival.
The theme of the festival is based on human right violations; all the films will be based on this theme. The aim of this festival is to bring human rights awareness amongst the commonest of the people. A total of 135 films were submitted, of which 21 were chosen for the festival.
The main attraction of the festival is a six-minute animal film The Mall on Top of my House, directed by Aditi Chitre, which will be screened along with foreign films at the 6 day festival, officials said. The festival is organized by Moving Images, Goa, Entertainment Society of Goa and International Centre in collaboration with Breakthrough New Delhi.
