Gracy Singh is back

Bollywood actress Gracy Singh, best known for her role as Gauri in Aamir Khan starrer Lagaan (2001), is not�new�to Telugu audiences. She debuted in Tollywood in 2002 with action hero Nagarjuna's super hit Santosham, which was later dubbed in Hindi and Tamil as Pehli Naazar ka Pehla Pyaar and Santhosha Vanille respectively.

Now the actress is all set to make a second entry with director S.K. Basheer's new Telugu film titled Ram Dev (also spelt Ramdev), a triangular love story starring Akash, Abbas, Archana and Saikiran in the lead roles. Presented by S.K. Basheer and produced by S.K. Karimunnisa, the film has completed its entire shooting and is now in the re-recording phase.

"We�plan to complete the post production works in May and the first copy would be ready by the first week of June. It is a triangular love story�being moulded with a different concept," said the director.

Gracy Singh started her career as a member of the dance group "The Planets". Her histrionic talents in a television soap opera 'Amaanat' brought her movie offers. Though she acted in Hu Tu Tu (1999) and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999), her biggest role yet was opposite Aamir Khan in Lagaan, where she played a village belle to perfection.

For Lagaan, she won several awards and accolades, including Screen Weekly Award for Most Promising Female Newcomer, International Indian Film Academy Special Award for Face of the Year and Zee Cine Popular Award for Best Debut Female. Her other notable films are Munnabhai MBBS (2003), Santosham (2002), Wajahh: A Reason to Kill (2004), The White Land (2005) and Chooriyan (2007).
