Congress has decided to nominate megastar-turned politician and Tirupati MLA Chiranjeevi to Rajya Sabha, consolidating Praja Rajyam Party’s merger with Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
The party on Sunday finalised the list of candidates, which also include party's spokesperson Renuka Chowdhary, former minister P. Govardhan Reddy from Andhra Pradesh. While the candidature of Chiranjeevi and Renuka Chowdhary was expected, the selection of Govardhan Reddy surprised the state's Congress leaders.
