Book on Sobhan Babu
On July 5, renowned filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao released ‘Sobhan Babu Jeevita Charitra -- Parugu Aapadam O Kala’, a biography of celebrated actor Sobhan Babu at an impressive function at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad.
The book was written by noted film journalist Akella Raghavendra. Dasari Narayana Rao presented the first copy to actress-turned-politician Jayasudha. Rasi Narasimha Rao, K.V. Satya Narayana, J.K. Bharavi, J. Ramesh Babu and others attended the function.
Jayasudha said: "I am still unable to believe that Sobhan Babu is no more. I am the heroine who did maximum films with him. Most heroines found Sobhan Babu a highly dignified person and as such they used to tell him about their difficulties, each time getting the right solution. When I recently won as an MLA, I remembered him. If he were alive, he would have definitely suggested that I stay away from politics."
J.K. Bharavi said: "Akella Raghava wrote a wonderful book. I read the script when it was getting composed. The book is going to be a marvel for the South Indian film industry. Sobhan Babu was the one and the only hero who took voluntary retirement despite having good offers."
Jeshta Ramesh Babu said: "I cherish a longstanding friendship with Sobhan Babu. We grew up together at my grandma’s place. When I got inclined towards politics, Sobhan Babu repeatedly advised me to desist from the move. Like him, his heart too was handsome, with a feel for humanity."
