Bhanu Kiran's sister questioned

Sleuths of the Central Crime Station summoned the sister of Bhanu Kiran, who is wanted in the murder of factionist Maddelacheruvu Suri (whose rivalry with Paritala Ravi was the basic plot of Ram Gopal Varma's recent Raktha Charitra) on Thursday and questioned her.

The investigators, who are struggling for clues to track Bhanu Kiran who has been evading them for over two months, questioned her to know if Bhanu Kiran had contacted her any other family members since the murder was committed.

A day after the killing of Suri, the police top brass exuded confidence that they would apprehend Bhanu in a few hours since they kept a tab on his movements and his associates. Days and even months are passing by, but there is no trace of the most wanted man in the capital.

According to the confession made by Bhanu's gunman Manmohan Singh, who was arrested a month ago, Bhanu Kiran was clever and aware how the police track movements of an accused by analysing mobile phone calls. "Since he was arrested twice by the Commissioner's Task Force (TF) earlier in other cases, he became familiar with the criminal tracking methods adopted by TF officials,” an investigator said.

According to Singh, Bhanu realised that using a mobile phone meant landing in the TF net. Hence, he simply stopped using mobile phones soon after committing the murder. "To evade the police, he would travel even 50 to 100 km to contact a person, that too from a landline phone,” Singh told his interrogators. This blocked the main source of police surveillance.
