The third season of the popular television reality show, Bigg Boss kick-started in the Telugu language on July 21st in a grand manner. The show began with an opening ceremony airing on Star Maa with the host Akkineni Nagarjuna. Notably, Nagarjuna is hosting the show for the first time as the first season was hosted by Jr. NTR and the second season was hosted by Nani. The third season began with 15 contestants entering the Bigg Boss house on the first day. The show began with 15 contestants including popular names like Baba Baskar.
The interesting first week came to an end with the eviction of Hema. As the show entered the second week, the first wild-card entrant was revealed. Tamanna Simihadri was the first wild-card entrant and 16th contestant to enter the house. Tamanna Simhadri is also the first transwoman contestant in Bigg Boss Telugu series. About Tamanna Simhadri, she was Miss Transgender Mumbai and is also the first trans woman to contest in the Andhra Assembly Elections in 2019 from Mangalagiri constituency. Tamanna Simhadri was also in the headline when Sri Reddy came out with the casting couch allegation in Tollywood.
