Actor Allu Arjun has tested positive for novel coronavirus and he shared the news through an official statement which was released through his social media platforms on Wednesday, April 28. In his statement, Allu Arjun said “Hello everyone! I have tested positive for COVID-19. I have isolated myself at home following all the protocols. I request those who have come in contact with me to get tested”. Further, he asked the fans to stay at home and be safe, and to get vaccinated whenever they can. He also mentioned "I request all my well-wishers and fans not to worry as I am doing fine”.

The actor is currently working on his next multilingual film ‘Pushpa’, in which he will be seen sharing screen space with Rashmika Mandanna. The film is directed by Sukumar, who is known for his blockbuster hit film, ‘Rangasthalam’ starring Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni. Puspha’s first look teaser was released on April 7 by the production house, Mythri Movie Makers and the video opened to a phenomenal response. The video has gained over 53 million views on YouTube within three weeks of its release and it is a huge feat. The film has Fahadh Faasil playing the antagonist. Pushpa is set to release in five languages - Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil.

The movie is tentatively scheduled to release on August 13, 2021, but the plan is subject to change, due to the increase in Covid 19 cases. Many notable movies have like Love Story, Acharya, Virata Parvam, etc, have postponed their releases due to the second wave of Covid 19.
