Blockbuster music director Yuvan Shankar Raja attended the Fresher's Day celebration at the SRM University on Saturday evening amidst much fanfare. The celebrated music director, who has completed 25 years in the film industry, had given an outstanding performance on stage entertaining students and esteemed guests, while also taking time off to speak to Galatta about his own days back in college, including opening about the viral photo he had taken with 'Thalapathy' Vijay a few months back. Upon being asked about his meeting with Vijay and a possible collaboration with the superstar, Yuvan revealed that there will be an update soon regarding it in the future. The response from the hit composer has come as big joyous news for fans, who have been wanting for the duo to team up for some time, and it now remains to be seen when that elusive announcement will be made.

The Yuvan-Vijay combo is one that fans are waiting to witness once again as the duo had come together only once for a film, Pudhiya Geethai, which was nearly two decades back in 2003. The two stars' picture, which the composer had shared in December last year, took social media by storm and sparked off speculations of them teaming up for a new film. Post Yuvan's statement about an update for a collaboration with Vijay expected in the future, there is a strong buzz that they could be teaming up for the superstar's Thalapathy 67, despite no official announcement made yet. So far, it has been reported that Thalapathy 67 will see Vijay reuniting with director Lokesh Kanagaraj after their box office blockbuster Master in 2021 and the wait is now for an announcement in its regard.
As of now, Vijay is busy filming his upcoming Thalapathy 66 with youth sensation Rashmika Mandanna under Vamshi Paidipally's direction. The film touted to be a family entertainer is being produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and has been announced to open in theatres as a Pongal 2023 release. Yuvan, on the other hand, is currently attached to high-profile ventures that include Vijay Sethupathi's Maamanithan, Dhanush's Naane Varuven, Karthi's Viruman, and Vishal's Laththi to name a notable few.
